GnomeKing Games is a UK-based solo operation, currently working on Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles. I started it in early 2021 after being inspired by The Shapeshifter, a new Game Boy game that I discovered. It was such a quaint title, and I was interested in the technicals behind creating a product like that that I decided to try. This is where my first title, The Train came from.

At first, this was just a passion project I did for fun, but when I came to the end of developing The Train, I realised I'd created something worth sharing and through a successful Kickstarter I was able to do just that! Many people loved it, and I've had plenty of positive comments, and some useful feedback.

In 2023, I started the sequel to The Train, and I wanted to further flesh out the world I had built, and also implement features and minigames I thought of during the development of the first game, but lacked the technical understanding of how to do it at the time. Once again, The Train Part 2 was a success and was released officially in 2024.

But I wasn't done there, and I started creating a completely different type of game, inspired by the likes of the Metroid series, and the Space Race: Lunar Mystery 2103, which is slated for release in late 2025, or early 2026.
